 An Introduction:

    My name is John, and I am the Gruppe Leader of Ritter Gruppe, a chapter of Kampfverband based in the greater Tokyo area of Japan. I'm an American ex-pat living in Japan, and with this blog I hope to show off Japanese survival games to a Western audience in better detail and focus. For any Japanese visitors to my blog, I will also translate my posts through Google so you can follow along as well. 

My Experience:

    I started with survival games in 2013, after seeing videos on Youtube and thinking that it looked fun. I purchased a replica and gear, and started playing at a field close to my home. After a few months of playing and learning, I joined a team made of staff and regular members. In 2014 I started attending military simulation games. For two years I would travel to events in the New England area with my team. In 2015 I was introduced to the Kampfverband group. My friends and I were amazed with their level of gear and how well they played, only two of them kept up with the 7 in my team that day. In 2015 I attended my first event with Milsim West(MSW) as a Russian militia team member. It was very intense and I enjoyed the experience a lot. After my first MSW event, I contacted Kampfverband to join their group. I had to buy a lot of new gear and replica to be accepted into the group. In 2016 I attended my first MSW event with Kampfverband, and was accepted as a full member. From 2016 to 2023 I went to 9 MSW events with Kampfverband, 10 in total including the one before I joined. I helped grow the group and matured into a leadership role and helped with the social media for Kampfverband and outreach to other teams attending MSW events.

    In 2023 I first visited Japan for one week to meet my wife's family. I played a day of survival games and had a lot of fun. While there is some differences from Japan to America, the spirit is still the same and I enjoyed myself. I recently moved to Japan and now live here full time. I've played more survival games here and have met a lot of friendly people and they've helped me adjust a lot.

私の経験：

    2023年、私は妻の家族に会うために初めて日本を1週間訪れました。一日サバイバルゲームをしてとても楽しかったです。日本とアメリカでは多少の違いはありますが、精神は同じでとても楽しめました。最近日本に引っ越してきて、今はフルタイムで日本に住んでいます。ここでもっとサバイバル ゲームをプレイし、たくさんのフレンドリーな人々に会い、彼らは私が適応するのに大いに助けてくれました。
