Ritter Blog: Demystifying Survival Games in Japan

 Regular Meeting Days:     While the names may be different, the spirit of regular meetings or "walk on" days of survival games are the same in both America and Japan. The safety rules are almost identical in both countries, so it seems pointless to talk about them. The general pace of the day is the same. Field/Gate Open: People enter and pay for admission. Meeting: Rules are explained and questions can be asked. Chronograph: Replicas are checked and marked. Game Meeting: Game scenario is explained. (Flag Battle, Annihilation Battle, etc.) Game Starts: Game ends when the time is finished or the goal is achieved.  Return to Staging Area: Refill magazine replica, relax, drink water.     There are some strong differences between America and Japan in the gameplay.  An Introduction:     My name is John, and I am the Gruppe Leader of Ritter Gruppe, a chapter of Kampfverband based in the greater Tokyo area of Japan. I'm an American ex-pat living in Japan, and with this blog I hope to show off Japanese survival games to a Western audience in better detail and focus.
